Gardener's World Golden Jubilee plant was announced at the BBC Gardener's World Live show by Mary Berry. The winning plant was the rose. The rose was nominated by presenter Adam frost and voted for by the public.

The rose is a timeless classic and I recently enjoyed a trip to the glorious English rose garden at the world renowned David Austin rose gardens.

I was hoping for the chilli to top the honours list as I'm more in favour of edibles in my garden. I do enjoy rose and violet cream chocolates. Back in 2014 Foodie Laura heralded
rose as the flavour of the season. Beautiful, flavourful and steeped in history, it does seem the rose was a worthy winner.
