This Gentle January series is a bit of a departure from the usual Foodie Laura content. Recently I've been focusing on video over on Foodie Laura TV but there's something that I really want to talk about -being happy.
Over the last few years it's something I've really been working on, in fact I even took a course in positivity. I quit my job that made me unhappy in a fanfare then I was a bit lost. There wasn't a guide to tell me what to do next. I spent time figuring out what makes me happy and everyday I make a conscious decision to be happy. I try to only surround myself with positivity and these days I'm in a very positive place, I love my life.
That all sounds great but how do I do that? What do I do? What do I read? How to I keep it up?

I don't have all of the answers, I still have the odd grumpy day but generally I'm now a very happy person. It's so easy to get distracted and loose sight of what's important. All it takes is a small shift of focus to start working on being happy, let's do it!
This month I'll cover the topics that I think are vital to creating a happy life, including time management, exercise, food and getting rid of negativity.
Today is the first day back at work after the Christmas break for a lot of people. My Facebook timeline is filled with moaning statuses and meme's of crying babies in suits. Before you even leave the house the message that today is inauspicious has already flashed before your eyes several times. Don't let that negativity colour your day.
