We had an amazing day in Nottingham at the Hammond innovation garden. It's like a giant allotment where they showcase amazing crops on a small scale. From there Hammond Group invite supermarket buyers in and can scale up production to supply them with any of the wonderful crops that are then sold in store.
Jon Hammond gave us a insightful garden tour and his passion for the sometimes usual crops shone through. The star of the day was the Borderfields Coldpressed Rapeseed oil. We learned about how the rapeseed was grown, the cold press process and were treated to chef demonstrations, lunch and samplings all designed to showcase the oil.
