I love entertaining at home, it's a different experience from eating out entirely, I've yet to come across a restaurant that can recreate the comfort and intimacy of my own dining room. I enjoy cooking from scratch and you already know that I'm passionate about sourcing fresh local ingredients but I don't always have as much time as I'd like to create something special in the kitchen particularly after a busy week, Taste Telford to the rescue.

Taste Telford deliver gourmet food boxes, "A la carte in a box" contains everything you need for a special meal at home, prepared and delivered to your door. It's a new local company started with the support of Young Britain. There will be QR codes on the dishes take you to a YouTube channel with cooking instructions. Before I've even tasted the food, which looks great, I'm already taken with the social media integration, I'm a YouTube addict and I'd much rather see a recipe being prepared than read about it.

The menu choices change monthly to take advantage of seasonal produce, I chose duck breast, chateau potatoes, cranberry jus and spring greens.
At £40 for a meal for a meal for two it's competitively prices when compared to other local fine dining establishments.
Martyn delivered the food to my door, we'd exchanged several emails while I picked out my menu and had spoken over twitter, I knew he was passionate about his produce and it was reflected in his amazing food. His enthusiasm was so infectious, he deserves every success that is coming his way. I haven't been able to stop telling everyone about this marvellous service, I don't think these pictures come close to doing the food justice. The duck breast was quite possibly the biggest I've seen, it was tender and juicy and all I had to do was transfer it to the oven along with the potatoes. I heated the jus in the microwave and assembled it all on a plate, the whole meal was ready in 20 minutes.
